About SSA
SSA is an organization that welcomes everyone! All levels of signers are welcome, as well as those who would like to learn and are looking for a safe place to begin! Our goal is to make every individual feel safe and comfortable! We're thrilled to host fun events for everyone to enjoy outside of their classroom; interacting with the deaf community through various activities and community services and enhancing our signing skills! American Sign Language (ASL) Studies Program and American Sign Language/English Interpreting Program (AEIP) from UW-Milwaukee actively encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about Deaf Culture and practice their signing skills!
Helping in Harmony
We create a new way to get more support from campus and outside of the community of Milwaukee. We are proud of having support from the AEIP and ASL programs at UWM. We continue to have wonderful sponsors; Water Tower View (WTV), and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee ASL Department.
To Our Vibrant Community
We invite all students, staff, and community members to get involved. We also like to collaborate with other organizations on campus to connect and learn about each other and our diverse communities. Building and supporting one another through our native language, ASL, is what we cherish!
