About SSA
SSA is an organization that welcomes everyone! All levels of signers are welcome, as well as those who would like to learn and looking for a safe place to begin. Our goal is to make every individual feel safe and comfortable. We're thrilled to host fun events for everyone to enjoy outside of their classroom and cramming for the exams. American Sign Language [ASL] Program and Interpreter Training Program [ITP] from UW-Milwaukee actively encourage all students to grab this opportunity to learn and practice their signing skills!
Helping in Harmony
We create a new way to get more support from campus and outside of the community of Milwaukee. We are proud of having supporting from ITP and ASL programs at UWM. We continue to have wonderful sponsors; Water Tower View (WTV), Greater Milwaukee Association of the Deaf (GMAD), Brew City Signer (BCS), and Wisconsin Association of the Deaf (WAD).
Our Future Looks Good
We welcome all students, staff, and community members to become involved. We'd also like to partner with other organizations on campus to come together and learn about each other and the communities within it. We thrive on making new friends and acquaintances while supporting each other using our native language, ASL!
